Insecurity in the Middle East: Why Do the Reformist Movements Constantly Fail? Towards a New Conceptual Framework

Over the last three decades, Middle East countries have frequently witnessed popular protests against authoritarian regimes. The question is why these never come to a desirable end? Regardless of role played by foreign actors in perpetuating regimes East, it seems that what causes not be pervasive and political infrastructures collapse been supported people’s majority. present article argues such dearth support refers fundamental cause we named fear cycle. This cycle includes masses’ regime, movement’s failure its dire consequences, system supposed power after overthrow incumbent government. governments an important creating this turning into panic.
